I have been going to Charlestown slots for about 5 years now.
People arriving by bus got very nice coupon book with decent food discounts. On a positive note, the food at the Epic Buffet was always been of good quality and the staff attentive. $2 off at the food court is not much of an incentive. I don't miss it since the coupons inside tended to be worthless. Interestingly their monthly newsletter has stopped. The last time I visited in March I walked around to see if things had changed. I have seen players complain to staff about the poor payoffs with only a shrug as a response. Since late last year they have installed many new machines.
Those same American Beauty Rose machines are still there (at least in March they were) but are hardly played. I have noticed the same with other machines that were popular. When I went back a month later all those machines would do was swallow credits and return nothing.
As an example about a year ago the American Beauty Rose machines (25cent version) hit enough to make them worthy of play. Now that same $100 might last an hour, maybe. I used to be able to spend $100 for an afternoon of entertainment. Starting early last summer I noticed the payouts were dropping rapidly.
